The diversity committee has served the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media for over a decade. In 2021, it was renamed to Access, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (ABIDE) to highlight a sense of community. 

As a Public Relations Service Writer, I covered the best practices for many communication tools of the PR trade for multiple platforms, including news releases for print and broadcast, fact sheets, media advisories, direct mail, and more. 

Responsibilities: 

• Produce quickly all the primary, professional, written materials required for the organization. 

• Integrate strategy into communication pieces to target appropriate/diverse audiences and media

• Advocate effectively for the nonprofit’s cause

• Raise awareness of the organization and maintain the authenticity of organizational values.
