My One Obsession

Some people would say that the dark clouds lifted when they moved out of their hometowns, met the love of their life, or even had a near-death experience. For me, it was the second I stepped foot into the Octagon on the first day of my internship at BODYARMOR Sports Nutrition & POWERADE.

I was 21 years old with my Honda Accord, and we drove the whole 10 hours to Queens, NY — I didn’t know exactly what working in-house PR for an $8B brand would entail but I loved the idea of being at the intersection of sports and CPG trends.

And I was right. My experience was nothing short of REAL. I made my fair share of mistakes, completed administrative tasks, and took on a project I am proud of — I worked on the communications team under the marketing department where I was fully entrenched in building tailored media lists, pitching outlets for our LTOs, crafting narratives with greater meaning, and occasionally starred in a few tiktoks ;)

To the Furious 5 (Amaryllis Hennessy Francesca Weller Miles Norwood Zachary Nusimow), thank you for fostering a collaborative environment (especially when it comes to those lunch orders) and for hyping up each other's creative ideas, no matter how small.

Lastly to all of BA, thank you for creating new avenues of connections that I’ll take into my next chapter of life.
